Tai Thong is known for preserving the traditions of Chinese cuisine, particularly Cantonese dishes, by offering exquisite Cantonese specialties. On top of that, Tai Thong holds certain awards such as Largest Chain of Chinese Restaurants in Malaysia by the Malaysia Book of Records, Malaysia Tatler's Best Restaurants Awards for four of their Chinese restaurants (2002 – 2012), as well as being shortlisted by Time Out KL Food Awards for the Best Chinese Restaurant in 2014.
