Ayam Taliwang is a spicy Indonesian grilled chicken dish that resonated so much with the founders who tried it on their honeymoon that they decided to introduce it to the Lion City. They experimented with different recipes for six months to make it suitable for Singaporean taste buds before finally opening a store at the Yishun Park Hawker Centre. Chicken is coated with the homemade ayam taliwang marinade made of chili, shallots, tamarind juice, and belacan before it is steamed and grilled. Served alongside nasi lemak, kangkong, and tempeh, patrons can try out new flavours at the stall. Nasi Lemak Ayam Balado (sambal chili) and Nasi Lemak Ayam Cabe Ijo (green chili) are also available, as well as side dishes like chicken wings and banana leaf mackerel fish otah.
